The local market, and where its records live

Dividend dates, results announcements and share price history for SGX-listed companies are all published by the companies themselves and by the exchange. This page explains where each record sits and how to read it.

How the local market is organised

SGX lists companies across several sectors, with the Straits Times Index (STI) as the most widely followed benchmark. The index is maintained by a index provider and its constituent list is reviewed periodically.

Real estate investment trusts (S-REITs) form a distinct part of the market: they are listed trusts that hold income-producing property, and they distribute a large share of their income to unitholders on a published schedule.

Companies may be listed on the mainboard or on Catalist, which has different admission and continuing obligations.

Where dividend and results records come from

A dividend shown on a third-party site is a copy. The announcement published by the company is the record that matters, and it carries the date it applied.

  • Company announcements — dividends, results, and corporate actions are announced by the company through the exchange's announcement channel. This is the primary record.
  • The company's own investor relations page — annual reports, results presentations and dividend history.
  • SGX company announcements — the exchange's public announcement feed.

Reading a dividend record

A dividend that has already been paid is a record of what happened. It is not a statement about what will be paid next, and it is not a promise of any future payment.

FieldWhat it means
Announcement dateWhen the company declared the dividend
Ex-dividend dateThe date from which a buyer no longer receives that dividend
Record dateThe date the company checks who is on the register
Payment dateWhen the dividend is actually paid
Amount per shareUsually stated in cents per share, sometimes with a tax note

What this page does not do

  • It does not rank companies, recommend any stock, or say which dividend is better.
  • It does not forecast dividends — those are declared by each company's board.
  • It does not reproduce live prices. Price data is shown with its timestamp and a real-time or delayed label wherever it appears.
