Who we are, and what we are not

What this community is

Straits Research is an independent, volunteer-run discussion group for people in Singapore who want to read local market information carefully. We publish explanations of local rules and structures, share publicly available data with its source and date attached, and host open discussion among members.

Our editorial approach is simple: source before opinion, dates on every number, estimates labelled as estimates, and corrections made in the open.

What this community is not

• We do not give investment advice. Nothing we publish is a personal recommendation or takes account of your objectives, financial situation or needs.
• We do not recommend securities. We do not publish buy or sell calls, price targets or portfolio allocations.
• We do not execute anything. We do not open accounts, hold client assets, place orders, or move money.
• We do not sell financial products. We do not distribute, market or place financial products.
• We are not paid for referrals. We operate no affiliate links, referral fees or paid placements. If we ever link to an official source, it is because it is the primary source, not because we are compensated.
• We do not manage money. We do not take custody of, or discretion over, anyone's assets.

Who runs it

The group is maintained by a small volunteer editorial team. We do not publish individual profiles, and we do not present any member as a licensed professional or credentialed expert. Where a member has relevant background, it does not make their view advice.

Contributions are reviewed against the group's sourcing standard before they are posted under the community's name.

How we handle mistakes

If something we published turns out to be wrong or out of date, we correct it and say what changed. If you spot an error, write to us using the contact details below and include the source you are relying on.

Editorial independence

We accept no payment from financial institutions, product issuers or intermediaries for coverage, placement or tone. There is no sponsored content in this community.
